Water & Sanitation

Sector Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) sector at the Urban Unit aims to provide demand driven technical and professional support to the provincial & local government entities regarding sustainable provision of water supply and sanitation in Punjab.

It has been striving to provide efficient legal, regulatory and institutional arrangements through capacity building of Government’s institutions and defining, designing policies and tools for urban governance and their implementation focusing on self sustaining water supply, sanitation and wastewater treatment services.

The sector has also been engaged in intellectual and research discourse to bring in best practices regarding WSS services, developing linkages and collaborations with International Partners along with working out financial arrangements for water supply and sanitation focusing on the participatory development approach including public-private partnership and community partnership.

The sector is committed to provide optimum quantity and acceptable quality of water and sanitation services thus contributing in improving the quality of life of citizens, reducing environmental vulnerability and attainment of the MGD by the Government of Punjab.
